Who are Heatwave Interactive?

Anthony Castoro

Mr. Castoro has over 13 years of professional game development experience, with a special emphasis in the online space. Anthony began his career as a founding partner of a bootstrapped start-up called “Integrated Visions” and has since worked as a game tester, designer, lead designer, producer and division director.

His credits include design and production roles on some of the most influential online games ever launched, including Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. In 2005, Mr. Castoro relocated from Redwood Shores, California to Warwick, England to run the newly formed MMOG division at Codemasters.

As Director of MMO Games at Codemasters, Anthony has been focused on the operation, publishing and acquisition aspects of the online business. This opportunity has given him exposure to literally hundreds of development initiatives across the globe and a new appreciation for the art of game development. In 2006, Codemasters Online Gaming division launched three massively multiplayer games: RF Online™, Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach™, and ArchLord™.

Mr. Castoro has also spent a significant amount of time working in Asia, with a variety of trips to Japan, China and South Korea. These experiences have left him with meaningful contacts across the game development, publishing, IT, and services sectors in Asia.

Anthony is in great demand as a speaker at industry events. His past speaking engagements include the MMO roundtable at the “Game Developers Conference” in 1999 and 2000, The “Austin Game Conference” in 2001, the “Breaking Into the Industry Conference and Resume Workshop” in 2004, the Institute for the Future’s “Future Conference” in 2004. Most recently he was invited by iPark to speak in Seoul at the “EU ICT Challenge 2006” on breaking into the European market.

Donn Clendenon

An accomplished entrepreneur with a financial background, Mr. Clendenon brings his experience and initiative in founding and managing gaming and technology companies to Heatwave Interactive.

Mr. Clendenon began his professional career in the investment banking business, progressing from a Fixed Income Trader to Technology Consultant to Equity Syndicate. In 1995 he joined the technology company, MPG-NET (Multiplayer Games Network), as Managing Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development. He then went on to secure $2 million in venture funding and negotiated the acquisition of MPG-NET by a publicly traded company then known as Interactive Magic (IENT). In 1997 he founded World Gaming Corporation (WGC), which in eight months was generating more than $500,000 in monthly revenue. Sold to Women.com in 1999, WGC’s revenues represented 80% of all revenue generated by Women.com in its first year as a publicly traded company.

Mr. Clendenon later founded I-Sun Networks and V3 Networks. V3 Networks continues to profitably service the online bingo community. From 2002 until the present, Donn has focused primarily on real estate development. With a mortgage company, two development companies and a title business (CCS LLC, Palazzi Development Group, 319 Race Associates & Franklin Search and Abstract, LLC.), he has developed and built more than $50 million in residential and commercial real estate.
