Heatwave Interactive Appoints Board of Advisors
Heatwave Interactive, Inc. is proud to announce its newly formed Board of Advisors, which will provide expertise and guidance as the fledgling company begins a new phase of rapid growth.
The initial Board of Advisors is comprised of three members whose extensive backgrounds will provide key insight in the areas of games publishing, film production, content strategy, international business development and general corporate strategy.
“We are thrilled to appoint such exceptional individuals to our initial Board of Advisors,” said Anthony Castoro, President of Heatwave Interactive. “They have embraced our philosophy that Content is King, and their guidance will be of great benefit to Heatwave as we design and produce products with outstanding content and connectivity.”
The initial members are as follows (in alphabetical order):
- Jason Bell - Presently CEO of Poplio, Inc., a start-up mobile gaming company based in Los Angeles, Chairman of a new development studio in Shanghai, CEO of Chrysalis Games in Santa Monica, California, and a consultant for online gaming to several of the largest gaming and media companies in the world.
Previously, Mr. Bell joined Turbine Entertainment Software as Executive Vice President in 2004. Before joining Turbine, Bell was Senior Vice President of Creative Development for Atari, Inc. (previously Infogrames). Mr. Bell joined Infogrames as Senior Vice President of publishing in 2000 and was responsible for the company’s three West Coast studios. Prior to Atari, Mr. Bell was a Senior Producer at Electronic Arts. His earlier game industry experience included three years with Virginia-based Kesmai Studios, where he held various positions, including Creative Director and Executive Producer.
- Ann E. Kronen - Ann is an independent consultant specializing in creative development and strategic planning in the videogame business.
She has 25 years experience in publishing and interactive media working as an executive for companies such as Atari, Humongous Entertainment, Disney, Philips, and Broderbund Software. Ann served as a director on the board of Atari. Inc. from February 2000 through October 2007.She is also currently a member of the Board of Trustees for The Westside Children’s Center.
- Charles J. Weber - For the past 30 years, Charles J. Weber (Charlie) has been a successful key executive, such as CEO of LucasFilm Ltd., in the Entertainment and Communications Industries. During this time, he has also been Chairman and CEO of Weber Communications, Inc., an international consulting firm providing professional management, consulting, business development, and financial services; specializing in strategic alliances in the multimedia, technology, location based entertainment, licensing, medical, broadcasting, entertainment, communications and Internet fields.
In this capacity, Mr. Weber is also very active in the international marketplace and represents a number of companies in the Middle East, the Far East, South America, Eastern and Western Europe. He has also served in an executive role for Fortune 500, real estate, and entertainment companies and has executive produced a number of feature films.
